Day 01 Kandy - The Heart of Sri Lankan Heritage
On the first day, we travel to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. Begin your day with a visit to the Temple of the Tooth, a sacred Buddhist site housing the tooth relic of Buddha. In the evening, we will arrive in Dambulla, a town renowned for the iconic Sigiriya Fortress and the magnificent Rangiri Dambulla Temple.
Day 02 Dambulla - A Journey into the Ancient
On the second day, your journey begins with a visit to the Sigiriya Fortress, also known as Lion Rock. The ruins of King Kassapa I's capital (from 477–495) are found on the top of a 180-meter-high granite peak. This 'Lion's Rock' towers over the surrounding jungle. You can reach the site by following a series of galleries and staircases that emerge from the mouth of a giant lion structure made of bricks and plaster. The summit provides a breathtaking reward for your effort, with views that are simply unforgettable. Next, you will visit the iconic Rangiri Dambulla Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage site has served as a sacred pilgrimage destination for 22 centuries. In the afternoon, journey to Anuradhapura to visit the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya, one of the most sacred Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka. This ancient fig tree is a sapling from the historical Bodhi tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. As you walk around this revered site, you'll feel a deep sense of peace and spirituality. Next, explore the historical marvels of Abhayagiriya and the Twin Ponds.
